Bestowing Love

imageI’ve experienced some amazing gifts of love from strangers recently – hugs and “I love you” statements, cups of coffee purchased at the check out line, sharing of earned points at the convenience store, prayers and requests for prayers, and generosity that goes well beyond the necessary.

I am on a mission. For this Month of Love, I am paying it back, paying it forward…better yet…paying it, God.

Want to join me? Surprise someone, a stranger, just leave them speechless. Then repeat, bestow on someone else. If any of them catch on, someone else will likely be warmly gifted too.

We don’t, and shouldn’t, come back here and say what we’ve done…except perhaps to say we’ve enjoyed seeing smiles.

Do this beyond February, of course. That’s the plan. Corny? Perhaps, but that’s the plan as well. We don’t care! I don’t care…and pssst…have you noticed? People need care.

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. (1 John 4:16)
