Scrapping My Book Plans (For Now)

www.HisPasturePress.com Book PlansIf you have followed me for a number of years, you may know that I planned to publish several additional books. One book was to be a devotional/memoir and the other a Christian-based children’s book centered around a goat farm.

I have decided to turn my twelve years of written notes into blog posts rather than publish them as a book. Why? The climate in today’s culture is raw and rough. Many Christian writers that I have followed through the years have now been raked through the coals for writing segments in their books that others either claim to not be scriptural or to be misleading. These wonderful writers are now pinned with the title false teacher.

God’s word says, in 2 Timothy 4:3-4, For the time, will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

My desire in life is to not write what the itching ears want to hear. My goal is to write the truth. I do not want to steer anyone away from God’s truth through either verbal or written word. My thoughts wrap around how easily words are misconstrued in today’s society.

I find it sad. Period.

Am I afraid of what people think of me? No. I simply do not want to put myself into a published book just to be beaten down.

Will I share the gospel as our Lord commands believers to do? Yes.

Will I ever publish another book? At this time, I am going to say probably. I want to. When and if the time is right, I’ll know.

I believe, once I continue to pour the experiences that I’ve had in life into blog posts, I may be nudged to share with others through a book.

Back history: Over a dozen years ago, God laid it on my heart through the Holy Spirit, to start blogging Annies Goat Hill. I miss that blog! I enjoyed writing encouraging posts as well as journaling my farm life through blogging. It was a joy!

Today…my dream is to pick up and share once again, but through this blog.

As my husband and I have said for nearly twenty years, “Onwards and upwards!”
